Accessibility
The accessibility target The Observatory works towards, what this statement does and does not claim, and how to report a barrier.
This statement describes our accessibility target and how to contact us; it is not a conformance certificate.
Accessibility (Legal & trust family) · Legal / trust · Version 1.2 · Last reviewed 1 October 2026
Applies to: All public pages of The Observatory.
Our target
Last updated: 1 October 2026.
We want The Observatory’s public readings and explanations to be usable by as many people as possible. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1 Level AA, as a design and improvement target. This statement is not a claim of certified or complete conformance.
What we work on
Our work includes attention to keyboard access, readable structure, contrast, text alternatives and the presentation of tables and charts. The availability and accessibility of a particular export may differ from the web page. Please contact us if the available format prevents you from using a reading.
This statement does not certify that every page or downloadable format meets every WCAG criterion. We review reported barriers and use them to guide improvements.
Report a barrier
If you encounter a barrier, email contact@theobservatory.io with the page address, the task you were trying to complete and, if helpful, the browser or assistive technology you used. You do not need to disclose a disability or medical information. We will review the report and consider a practical alternative or improvement.
Updates
We will update this statement when material changes to accessibility or the scope of our assessment need to be explained.
